Based on a real scenario in my day-to-day mind, I took the liberty of creating a concept poster for a movie titled Admiration Fever. This movie stars me as a character who aspires to be something more in life and therefore, embarks on a journey to fulfill his aspirations and live life to the fullest, guided by a mentor who embodies what success looks like.

Much of the design you see here took cues from the Nickelodeon TV show series Jimmy Timmy Power Hour (in the poster’s art style and narrative concept), as well as from Pharrell Williams’ biographical documentary movie, Piece by Piece (in the poster’s positioning of characters and narrative concept).

Admiration Fever’s poster was designed with the intention of making the bottom half resemble a cold, broken, and depressing world. In contrast, the upper half is supposed to be more illustrious to promote the place where our main character wants to be in life, which is to be successful and to have dream fulfillment. The movie’s message of “Admire the journey” is purposely laid out in a descending perspective to symbolize the long length of time the journey would take for our character to reach his destination. As for the message itself, it is a message that comes directly from the character’s mentor (featured on top of the staircase within the white glowing door) as guiding words in navigating through the journey to the promised land.

After finishing this poster, it continues to serve as a reminder and reflection for where I want to be in life, and I hope that this serves the same way for others in similar spots in life.
