New concept Packers rivalry uniform design.

Given the legendary legacy of the NFL’s Packers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI, I took the time to envision what the next team uniform would look like for the team. While it was clear to me that I had to keep the green and yellow colors (as these are the staple colors of the Packers brand), I also wanted to incorporate a lighter blue into the uniform. The blue color’s purpose in the design is to convey the tundra-like, wintery environment in which Lambeau Field exists. Going deeper into the blue color lies a lightly applied rough texture effect that captures the harsh conditions that complement the stadium’s aura and winter game-day experience. All these elements of the uniform design cultivate the image of Lambeau Field’s nickname, known as the Frozen Tundra.

The Frozen Tundra stands as a symbolic representation of the Packers’ brand in their toughness and resilience when dealing with adversity. This name and everything about it were on their fullest display during the well-known game known as the Ice Bowl in 1967 between the Cowboys and Packers, which saw the Packers winning the game 21-17. As a result of many significant and memorable games like the Ice Bowl being played in the Frozen Tundra, the name commands great historical meaning and community spirit to the people who own and support the Packers.

Designing this new concept uniform for a legendary franchise like the Packers has brought me immense satisfaction, a memorable project that will be a staple in my portfolio of graphic design work. Furthermore, I am proud of the Packers for everything they have done and what they continue to do to strengthen their bond with their community (fans and owners alike). And if possible, I hope elements of my uniform, or even all of it, can one day be incorporated into the official design of the next Packers uniform.
