As someone who has been having a growing interest in motorsports (particularly Formula 1 or F1) and the people in it, I wanted to take the time to honor a legendary driver who deserves all recognition. The driver I created a poster for is Polish driver Robert Kubica. Kubica is a widely recognized and renowned driver for his prominent level of talent and versatility within a wide range of races, including single-seaters, rallying, and endurance racing. Additionally, this driver has been greatly praised for his resilience in overcoming severe adversity after an arm injury, making a memorable return to F1, and going on to win world endurance titles.
This poster was created with two sources of inspiration in mind. These sources include a poster I found from a graphic designer known as Damon Bomar Media (@damonbomarmedia) and a graphic I found from the F1 YouTube channel featuring the Spanish F1 driver, Fernando Alonso. When looking at the poster created here, the pose of Kubica on the left side of the poster, along with the other pictures featured in the poster, was designed with a threshold effect to highlight the personality traits and notable feats of the driver. The text saying Robert Kubica (with Kubica being bolded), along with the colors used in the poster, was designed in a way that was meant to emphasize the driver’s nationality.
Overall, I hope more people can look back at this poster and take the time to appreciate the legacy of Robert Kubica and all he contributed to F1 and other areas of motorsports. More information on Kubica can be found through the links below:
